While I’m sure many of your weekends for this season are spoken for, I hope this week’s newsletter is helpful to some of you still needing to round out your summer plans.
Below are 100 concerts highlighting a wide range of opportunities for you to check out, including local, regional and national acts at venues of all sizes. (I’ll be at Pug Fest this weekend with a recap coming in next week’s newsletter)

June 27
Fred Armisen (Royal Oak Music Theatre): Comedian and drummer Fred Armisen of Portlandian fame is bringing his Comedy For Musicians But Everyone Is Welcome tour to Royal Oak Music Theatre. Tickets start at $35.
Origami Angel, Saturdays At Your Place, Combat (The Intersection, Grand Rapids): Emo/pop punk stalwarts Origami Angel are playing The Intersection in Grand Rapids with special guests Saturdays At Your Place, Chase Petra and Combat. Tickets are 38.50tg.
Pug Fest III feat. Oso Oso, Macseal, Sweet Pill, Liquid Mike (June 27-29, The Loving Touch, Orchid Theatre, Ferndale): Michigan’s biggest emo showcase returns to Ferndale for the third annual Pug Fest. Three nights of music performed at The Loving Touch and Orchid Theatre. Bands from across the state and nation are in the lineup, including Oso Oso, Macseal, Sweet Pill and Liquid Mike. Three-day passes for the festival are $100, while day passes range from $25 to $55 each.
June 28
12 Hour Party featuring Ashton Swinton, DJ Psycho, Eddie Fowlkes, Tammy Lakkis (Marble Bar, Detroit): Bass Pulse Management will present an evening of Detroit techno from 9 p.m. to 9 a.m. at Marble Bar in Detroit.
Devo (The Fillmore, Detroit): One of new wave’s most innovative bands, Devo, is celebrating 50 years together. Remaining resale ticekts for their show at The Fillmore start at $125 each.
June 29
Big Sean and the Detroit Symphony Orchestra (Fisher Music Center, Detroit): Detroit rap legend Big Sean will pay triute to J Dilla, with other performances from Detroit’s Skilla Baby, Tee Grizzley, Illa J, Nasaan and Queen Naija. Tickets start at $110.
R&B Music Experience (Little Caesars Arena, Detroit): A plethora of noted R&B artists including Ashanti, Tank, Lil Kim, 112, Mya and Donell Jones are slated to perform at Little Caesars Arena. Tickets start at $101.85 each.
July 1
“Weird” Al Yankovic (National Cherry Festival, Traverse City): Weird Al’s Bigger and Weirder 2025 Tour is coming to the Cherry Festival in Traverse City. Tickets start at $68.
July 3
Tyler, The Creator (Little Caesars Arena, Detroit): Noted rapper Tyler, The Creator is coming to Little Caesars Arena in Detroit. Remaining tickets start at $152 each.
July 5
Social Distortion (20 Monroe Live, Grand Rapids): LA punk veterans Social Distortion will play at 20 Monroe Live in Grand Rapids. Tickets start at $52.50.

Friendship, Idle Ray, 2nd Grade (Outer Limits Lounge, Detroit): It’ll be three awesome indie rock bands on bill at the Outer Limits Lounge, headlined by Friendship, who is touring in support of its new album Caveman Wakes Up. Tickets are $17.82.
Wavves (El Club, Detroit): Wavves are back with their first new album in years, Spun. The band will visit El Club in Detroit. Tickets are $37.39.

Domani (El Club, Detroit): Rising soulful Atlanta rapper Domani is coming to Detroit’s El Club. Tickets are $40.79.
The Wallflowers (Bell’s Eccentric Cafe, Kalamazoo): ‘90s alternative rock standouts The Wallflowers will bring their nostalgia tour to Bell’s Eccentric Cafe in Kalamazoo. Tickets are $59 each.
Wu-Tang Clan, Run The Jewels (Little Caesars Arena, Detroit): Legends of rap will visit Little Caesars Arena as part of the Wu-Tang Forever: The Final Chamber tour. Ticket start at $69.95.

Dave Matthews Band (Pine Knob Music Theatre, Clarkston): Popular rock jammers Dave Matthews Band are coming to Pine Knob. Tickets start at $99.
Todd Rundgren (Bell’s Beer Garden, Kalamazoo): Classic rock icon Todd Rundgren is bringing his “Still Me/Still We” tour to the Bell’s Beer Garden Summer Concert Series. Tickets are $56.77.

May Erlewine (Sonic Lunch, Ann Arbor): Michigan singer/songwriter performs at the weekly free concert series in Ann Arbor, Sonic Lunch. She will be supported by opener The Rebel Eves.
Merce Lemon, Neu Blume (The Magic Bag, Ferndale): Indie singer/songwriter Merce Lemon will perform at The Magic Bag in Ferndale with support from Michigan indie folk band Neu Blume. Tickets are $22.30.

Pretoria, Ficus, Diet Lite, Headband Henny (Pyramid Scheme, Grand Rapids): Some of Michigan’s best rock bands will perform on the same bill at the Pyramid Scheme as part of Pretoria’s If We’re Pretending EP release show. Tickets are $22.07.

Five Iron Frenzy, The Boy Detective (The Shelter, Detroit): Generations of ska-punk are represented in this show featuring Five Iron Frenzy and rising southeast Michigan band The Boy Detective. Tickets are $39.
Kesha, Scissor Sisters (Pine Knob Music Theatre, Clarkston): Pop icon Kesha is joined by dance pop veterans Scissor Sisters for a performance at Pine Knob. Tickets start at $110 each.

Drive-By Truckers, Deer Tick (Bell’s Beer Garden, Kalamazoo): The Bell’s Beer Garden Summer Concert Series will bring southern rock mainstays Drive-By Truckers to Kalamazoo, along with Deer Tick. Tickets are $54.20.

Wiz Khalifa, Sean Paul (Pine Knob Music Theatre, Clarkston): A pair rap legends are coming to Pine Knob Music Theatre when Wiz Khalifa and Sean Paul make their stop on July 23. Tickets start at $50 each.

Pelican, Porcelain, Bronson Arm (Pyramid Scheme): Heavy music headlined by metal band Pelican, which is touring in support of its new album Flickering Resonance. Tickets are $30.31.

The Crane Wives (Saint Andrew’s Hall, Detroit): Michigan indie rock standouts The Crane Wives will take their summer tour to Saint Andrew’s Hall. Remaining tickets are $75.13.
T-REX FEST (Pyramid Scheme): Three evenings of heavy emo and shoegaze music from July 25-27 will feature Flint’s Greet Death in addition to A Place To Bury Strangers, Show Me The Body, MSPaint, We Lost The Sea, Carly Cosgrove, Samantha Crain, Vagabonds, Standards and McWeakerton. The Deslondes w/ Sabine McCalla, Libby DeCamp (Lager House, Detroit): Alternative country from the bayou will grace Lager House in Detroit when The Deslondes visit on July 30. Tickets are $20 in advance.
